Guide My Feet

Zechariah prophecies over his son John the Baptist who will prepare for the One who will come to "shine on those living in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the path of peace."
That is Jesus. He shines on us and we are never the same. He guides our feet into the path of peace. Sometimes I choose not to take those steps that he has guided me in and my life is not so peaceful. I detest myself when I'm not living in peace....and I think others are repulsed by me as well. A friend and I just discussed this a few days ago. What life is like when we don't choose to live in peace. I just do not like to live in that very long. But some seem to live this way their whole lives.

Only true peace can come from the One who came to bring peace. The Jews thought this meant no more warring with other countries, but the true message is inner peace, "peace that passes all understanding."

One of my New Year's Resolutions is to have peace in all circumstances. As I look over the last couple of months, I can honestly say...not by my might, but by His...I am having more peace in the midst of chaos. Maybe things have been less chaotic.

Lord, guide my feet into the path of peace and give me a nice little nudge to walk on the path.

My 92 year old Grandma got a pedicure for the first time in her life when we went with my sister to Storm Lake for my mom's 60th birthday. My daughter decided to stay at the house and play with her cousins.

And just for fun (project), here are some cute little moccassin me and the kids made for homeschool:

Emoticons

My daughter definitely got the moody gene. We don't usually have to guess HOW she is feeling, but boy would I like to know WHY once in awhile. We were working on an alphabet book using magazine pictures and she had the great idea to take faces and put them on sticks. I think they are hilarious!

Farm Fresh Eggs

In an effort to eat more natural and whole foods, I have been buying eggs from a local farmer who has some egg-layers. Aren't these eggs beautiful???? I love the bluish/green eggs the best. And they really do taste different...richer..delicious!!!!

God has been speaking to me about eggs lately. A lady in church shared a comparison of our lives to eggs. She pointed out that eggs are useless unless they are cracked. Even if you hard-boil the egg, you still have to crack and peel the shell off before you can eat it.

I've had dreams about eggs and chickens off an on over the past couple of months. I read something in a book a few days ago that made a lot of sense. The author said her dreams are like eggs that God gives her to incubate. He will hatch the full understanding in his time, but until then she must tend to them, pray over them and continue to seek God for answers regarding them.

There is nothing like the mysteries of God and when He lets me in on one of His secret treasures, my love for Him is indescribable because I know how much He loves me.

Valentine Leftovers

So we did some really fun projects around valentine's day...but my blogging couldn't meet the 2/14 deadline. I had the pictures, so I thought why not just post some pictures quick.
